When I was growing up outside Washington, D.C., I dreamed of being a fashion designer. I spent many weekends visiting the city’s museums with my dad, which fostered my creativity and appreciation for the arts. When I received a sewing machine for Christmas in the third grade, I thought I was well on my way to New York Fashion Week.
I quickly discovered that I’m no seamstress. I thought I might pursue fashion merchandising instead, but my C grade average in my business classes at Georgetown University taught me otherwise. I ditched the business pursuit and settled into the one thing I’ve always been good at: writing.
As a two-time English major, a student journalist, and a professional content marketer and editor, I’ve not only learned to read and analyze stories, but to write them. I’ve seen the power of the written word to spark dialogue and transport the reader to new worlds. I want to be a part of that journey, using my writing to inspire and educate the world -
one story at a time.
